IV Therapy At Post Nursing & Rehabilitation
Delivering medical treatments with care and compassion.
What is IV Therapy?
Intravenous therapy (IV therapy) is a method of delivering medications and fluids directly into a vein, which means they are introduced much faster to the body. IV therapy is prescribed to provide fluids, administer medications, and to give blood transfusions. Residents require IV therapy for a range of reasons, such as:
- Inability to eat or drink normally
- Those who require high-dose antibiotics
- Dehydration end/or electrolyte imbalance
- Medical conditions that prevent the normal absorption of essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals
